Huskies Win Several Events at Radford Invitational
Results
RADFORD, VA- The Bloomsburg University track team took home several first place finishes at the Radford University Invitational on Saturday morning.
In the long jump, Connie Raineri (Gilbertsville/ St. Pius X) blew away the field with a PSAC qualifying jump of 17'-1.25 inches. Raineri's nearest competitor jumped nearly two feet shorter. Raineri also finished second in the 200-meters. Beth Schwing (Hershey/ Lower Dauphin) also took first place in the 1500-meters and placed second in the 800-meters.
Other notable finishes for the women include Amber Hackenberg (Middleburg/ Middleburg), who finished fourth in the 1500- meters and fifth in the 800-meters, Ashley Shuck (Milton/ Milton), who was fifth in the 1500-meters, Sarah Bounds (Shippensburg/ Shippensburg), who placed fifth in the 5000-meters and Michelle Jansen (Warrington/ Central Bucks South) who was fifth in the 400-meter hurdles.
On the men's side Marc Best (Bushkill/ East Stroudsburg) won the 200-meter dash, while the 4x4 relay team of Darryl Robinson (Easton/ Easton) , Michael Dalton (Lake Hopatcong, NJ/ Pope John XXIII), Matt Krum (Hatfield/ North Penn) and Dan Tallarico (Pittsburg/ North Hills) also finished first.
In the 5000-meters Justin Shepherd (Cranberry Twp./ Seneca Valley), Jimmy Stockley (Elverson/ Twin Valley), and Ben Holmes (Waynesboro/ Waynesboro) took third, fourth, and fifth place respectively.
The Huskies will race next weekend at the University of Richmond at 10 a.m.
